Millionaires are born from great ideas! I you're like me you want to start a business in a niche that will drown out any of your competition and have you soaring to riches in no time. That all sounds great, but if everyone could always think up the next best idea then we would all be millionaires. So, keep thinking and in the meantime here is a great idea that could make you thousands...
Business Idea: Snow Play
Description: Have an indoor play house filled with snow year round and charge an entrance fee, serve snacks, sell merchandise, etc.
Start-Up Cost: $20k - $200k
Potential Income: an easy $500/day
I grew up in South Texas where the temperature can easily reach 112 degrees bringing the perfect conditions for some snowfall. What? In the summer, are you kidding me? No I'm really not, you can have snow anywhere at anytime of the year and make good money from it. Here's how it works:
It's a dream come true
Imagine having a business that only makes people happy everyday. Whether you're in South Texas where it never snows at anytime of the year or in South Lake Tahoe where you won't get a flurry in the middle of June, you can always give people the hope of snow. Kids of all ages will walk in with sweat rolling down their faces from the heat outside, and the next second they are grabbing hand fulls of snow and flinging it at each other and laughing at the top of their lungs. This is sweet!
Make some snow
Your first question is probably "how in the world do I make snow if it's not cold enough?" Easy, just make it colder. Find a building in a good location to start your business and fill it with cold air. To make snow you need the weather conditions to be at least 23 degrees Fahrenheit. Now you need a snow machine, like the one pictured here, that uses water to make mounds of fluffy snow.
Make some money
Trust me, it won't be hard to get people to come play in the snow during the summertime at any price, but to keep it within reason you should probably charge 5 or 10 dollars a person to enter the building. Once they are inside you can have a concession stand with anything from candy to coffee and hot cocoa. You can also sell merchandise like long sleeve t-shirts, coats and mittens.
So potentially that's what, $500 per day? I can definitely make a living on that, and that's only calculating 50 people coming through the door everyday at 10 bucks a head. There is a ton more money to be made from the amount of food, drinks and t-shirts that you can sell pushing the numbers up to 800 or even 1000 dollars in one day!
Amazing! A gold mine of snow just waiting for you. I'd say go for it!
